Coin Prices & Values

Informative vintage coin collecting guide and coins.

Important Information About Coin Values

No single price guide can determine exactly what a coin is worth. A price-guide amount, dealer offer, auction result, insurance value, and retail asking price may all be different. Coin values can vary based on condition, grade, rarity, demand, authenticity, eye appeal, and recent market activity. The following independent resources can help collectors research estimated values and compare actual selling prices.

Before relying on a listed value, confirm the coin’s denomination, date, mint mark, variety, condition, grade, and authenticity. Cleaned, damaged, altered, counterfeit, or incorrectly identified coins may be worth considerably less than an undamaged and properly graded example.

Coin and precious-metal markets can change, and visitors should compare multiple sources or consult a qualified numismatic professional before buying or selling.

PCGS Coin Price Guide

NGC Coin Price Guide

The Numismatic Guaranty Company price guide provides estimated retail values for United States coins. It uses information from documented transactions, dealers, collectors, and auction companies. Values are most relevant to properly graded, NGC-certified coins.  NGC Price Guide

Greysheet and CPG Price Guide

Greysheet publishes wholesale-oriented pricing commonly used within the coin trade. Its CPG Price Guide provides retail estimates intended for collectors. Some information is available without charge, while complete pricing may require a subscription.  Greysheet Prices

PCGS Auction Prices Realized

The PCGS Auction Prices database allows collectors to research actual prices paid for coins at major auctions. Auction records can be more useful than a price guide when researching a specific date, mint mark, variety, grade, and certification.  PGCS Auction Prices

NumisMedia Fair Market Value Price Guide

NumisMedia provides estimated fair-market retail values for properly graded United States coins. Its online collector guide covers numerous coin series and grades and can be used as an additional comparison with other price guides.  Fair Market Value
